Found this gem of a tent over at Apartment Therapy.  HAD to share.  Because...well...it's a quilt tent.  And that makes it all the more cozy and fantastic, really.  Tents are by Field Candy.

My child has two baskets of stuffed animals.  All from various family members (most are from her uncle who LOVES stuffed animals.)  Personally, I've never purchased one...well...not since I was a little kid myself anyway.  I rarely see stuffies that I fall in love with.  But I kinda sorta fell in love with these little guys.  From My Sweet Muffin.

Ohhhhhhh - how divine.  I think my desire for quilting is starting to sneak up on me again.  I love suturing in the operating room - my stitches are so pretty... (and I'm quick to point out that I'm a quilter.)  Except, I never mention I've never finished a quilt.  I've never come even close to finishing a quilt.  So....what does that make me?  Oh well....whatevs.  A girl can dream.

As a novice quilter, I have the basics...a couple of needles, my grandmother fabric scissors, a container of pins, and a variety of grocery store plastic bags separating my threads, from my laces, from my fabric.  It's very rudimentary.  So you can imagine how droll worthy these sweet little pin cushions are to me...I want to make one...but know that I should not/will not take on another crafting project...even for a small sweet little cushion.  Aren't the adorable?

I brought my quilting stuff down to Tucson. I had a crazy notion that maybe I'd have some "free" time from the hospital where I'd want to be crafty. Little did I know that when I'm not at the hospital I am sleeping...in my clothes...with my makeup on.

But. I like having my quilting stuff here anyway. Just in case.

Don't you just love that lil hidden heart? I do.

*note: I spent a few magical moments quilting this week right before I went to bed...mending the patches that I almost ruined in the washing machine. I think my quilt might just be saved. I'm so happy :-)

my quilt

I love the look of this quilt (via here) - I want to crawl in and stay for a few hours.

I was making a quilt. I started last March...and haven't picked it up again since last July. It's no where near it's completion...I always assumed when I moved back to Arizona I would have lots of time to work on it (I was wrong.) And I realized a couple weeks ago that I never once washed some of the fabric before I started compiling the squares. So I washed the squares. And it unraveled the edges, distorted the shapes, and ripped some of the pieces. I ruined it.

Such a heartbreak.

I will fix it though. At some point.

*note: this isn't my quilt...I am enamored with looking at quilts online...and this is one of those captivating finds of someone's work.

machine hunt

My 28th birthday came and went in December. My fiance sent me an I O U for a sewing machine!! It's what I really really wanted :-)

Today I set out to pick one out. No success. The holidays cleared out most of the affordable machines from the shops. So....I'll keep reading up on sewing machines...which brands do what...how I can get the biggest bang for my buck...what machines can handle quilting.... (I am so totally clueless when it comes to things like sewing...)

All I know is that allllllllll I want to do is quilt!!

crazy quilt

I'm making a quilt. I've been wanting to make one for some time now...6 months or so...with no idea and nowhere to start. But then, one day, I just did. I started. I have one square completed. It's a crazy quilt - my favorite kind. Because...well...umm...they are crazy. And the stitchwork looks awesome. I don't know how to do stitchwork - so mine might turn out real interesting. I locked myself out of my car today - for the second time in seven days. It must be my new Friday "thing." Awesome. Oh well. I just happened to pick a prime location in front of this crazy fun fabric store...so you can bet I walked out with a handful of fat-quarters. Yay! I know exactly what I will do with them. (more on that later...)
